Kim Rogers, BSW, RSW

 

 

 

BIO: Kim Rogers (BSW, RSW) is a long time Yukon resident, mom and musician with over 20 years’ experience in the counselling field. Kim is most inspired by guiding creative and expressive activities that can help you achieve stronger self-awareness, connect with your intuition, and use creativity as a healing tool.

Activities Kim designs can include visual art, collage, writing, music, photography, sculpture, body movement, and eco-art using materials in nature.

 

Kim has facilitation training from the Prairie Institute of Expressive Art Therapy.

BIO: Ryan works with individuals and groups to cultivate presence, inner peace, and awareness. His approach integrates Eastern philosophy and neuroscience to train the mind, blending old and new ways of healing through meditation.

Ryan believes that everyone is on their own personal journey to becoming whole. He has a unique ability to meet everyone where they are to establish or develop their mindfulness practice. Meditation is a skill that benefits every aspect of personal growth. Ryan's work in this field extends to mental performance training for athletes and mindful leadership training.

BIO: CEO Northern Focus Counselling Services

Pat has extensive experience in the field of peacemaking, conflict resolution, mediation, parenting assessment, and clinical training. She has worked as a mediator in both public and private practice for over 20 years. Pat’ s qualifications include degrees in English Literature, Counselling and Education and a Teaching and School Administration Certificate.

 

She has been certified in negotiation and mediation skills through the Justice Institute of British Columbia’ s Conflict Resolution Program and Child Protection Mediation. She has been certified to use and train others in the Virginia Satir Model of Counselling by the Satir Professional Development Institute of Manitoba. 

 

A valued member of the Conflict Resolution/Peacemaking community in Canada, she has presented her work at the national level at many conferences. The current focus of her private practice is parent coaching, family mediation, family therapy and personal growth coaching. She continues to train therapists in Dubai, Turkey, Latvia and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Pat believes in supporting individuals, couples and families to weather conflict and changes in their circumstances.

Joseph Graham is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and Registered Art Therapist who has worked in the Yukon since 2001. Joseph helps people and families of all ages to communicate difficult issues and to face their challenges in an inspired and creative way.

 

Joseph has professional training and experience with individual, couples, group and family counselling on a range of issues including trauma, grief and loss, relationships, transitions, attachment, addictions and meaning making. With compassion and creativity, Joseph offers professional problem solving for people wanting efficient, positive change.

Adam Thompson MC, BA, CCC

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

BIO: Adam is a born and raised Yukoner.

He believes that counselling is based on a human connection that provides a safe space for people to explore their needs collaboratively.

A therapist who follows a path of being genuine, compassionate, and enquiring of a person's needs can help show how to engage in self-regarding practices, help them express their hopes and aspirations, identify personal strengths, and enhance their well-being.

His approaches are through a cognitive behavioural and eastern mindfulness lens that allows for self-motivation and awareness during the therapeutic process.

Adam has worked in the field of counselling and fitness for over 20 years. Including the Tk'emlúps te Secwe̓pemc First Nation in Kamloops as a Youth Resource worker and the last ten years with the Yukon Government's Health and Social Department. In his spare time, Adam owns and operates his own spinning class company and is involved in community rescue dogs and cats.

He is currently accepting clients from the ages of 12 to adult and has worked with individuals, couples, as well as groups while developing client therapeutic approaches.

Meg Grudeski, Canadian Certified Counsellor, Registered Provisional Psychologist

 

BIO: Meg began her work in the mental health and counselling field more than a decade ago, working with street outreach teams and in youth shelters. Her harm reduction approach was honed in that work, and continues to grow out of a core belief in meeting folks where they're at in their lives. Since moving with her partner to the Yukon in 2013, Meg completed her formal graduate studies in counselling psychology, adopted two "Yukon Special" rescue dogs, completed her registration as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C), and has recently been added as a Health Canada service provider.

 

Her counselling practice is complemented by her work as a Master Trainer and facilitator of both Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and SafeTALK. Through these educational workshops, Meg has been fortunate to travel the territory, and provide suicide safety training to more than 500 Yukoners.

Meg works primarily from a narrative and humanistic lens, with clinical experience in solution-focused, harm reduction, and cognitive-behavioural models. She has specialized experience with teens and youth, working in Northern contexts, and with addictions.

 

Presently, Meg provides services to individual persons – of any gender or orientation – aged 10 and older. She is currently accepting new clients to her caseload. Meg has been approved by most benefits coverage, is Health Canada eligible (NIHB and IRS programs), and accepts private pay.

Gundolf Strehl, Licensed Psychologist

BIO: Gundolf Strehl is a licensed psychologist and a licensed Occupational Therapist. He is a certified Master Trainer with the Enriching your Relationship with Yourself and Others program and a Trainer with the Satir Coaching and Mentoring Program. Both training programs are offered and certified by the Virginia Satir Global Network and are based on the work and philosophy of Virginia Satir. He is recently finishing the training on Deceptive Sexuality Trauma by Dr. Minwalla.

He was born and grew up in Germany and since 2013 he has permanently lived with his family in Argentina, where he sees individuals and couples in his private practice and through video sessions. The video sessions also give him the possibility to work with clients around the world. During  the last few years he started working with Helping Couples Heal, which offers help to sex addicts and their betrayed and traumatized partners.

BIO: Darya is the Director of Virginia Satir Institute in the UK, a non-for-profit affiliate of the Satir Global Network, the official training organization of Virginia Satir. Darya is a pioneer of community training and educational sessions and has been awarded the Outstanding Service Award by the Satir Global Network. A psychologist and a systemic relationship coach, Darya began her career in one of the biggest multinational companies where she became a human resources manager and the HR Talent leader for the European hub. She quit her corporate job in Switzerland to move back to the UK and focus on helping transform people’s life and work.

She holds a First Class Honours in Economics, Masters’ in Psychology, Masters’ with Distinction in International Relations and holds a Masters’ of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge in the UK, and currently working towards Doctorate in Psychology furthering the research of systemic tools to help create love-rich and violence-free world. 

Darya is a certified trainers’ trainer in NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP), professional certified coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and a lecturer at universities around the world.

Aznive Tossounian, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist

 

BIO: Aznive Tossounian has a bachelor degree in Communication Arts, Radio, TV and Film Emphasis / Saint Joseph University/ Lebanon. She is a certified clinical hypnotherapist, psychotherapist, Satir counselor and Satir coaching and mentoring specialist.

After working for more than 20 years in the Television Industry specifically in MBC group and Al Arabiya news channel, in Dubai, one of the biggest news channels in the Arab World.

A life changing experience made her study the inner world of herself, to understand the impact of the unconscious mind in her daily life.

When she took the courses of Virginia Satir family therapy (She studied with Pat Bragg and Sharon Loeschen), she gained her life back and started counting her blessings. And began to teach others to help them discover their inner world. 

Being born in Lebanon, Aznive speaks 4 languages (Armenian, Arabic, French, and English) and her teaching are mostly focused on individuals, who are ready and have the courage to begin a journey to discover their inner world and the valuable tools that they own but never found the way to help them bring to light their clear minded goals to grow and their higher self-esteem.
